  1. Request Redeal

    We have a rule in our version of Rook that you have the option of requesting a Redeal if you were not dealt any point cards. When this occurs the cards are redealt by the previous dealer, counterclockwise at the table. We call this "Backing Up The Deal." Would it be possible to consider adding an optional "Request Redeal" type of step in the configuration Settings?

    Other people call this declaring a misdeal.

    A new version of Blackbird was just released that supports misdeals! By default, the official rules are set to request a misdeal when there are no point cards. The Western Wyoming rules are set to request a misdeal when there are no cards above a 9. In your custom rule sets, you can choose between no point cards, no cards above 9, or no cards above 10.

  2. Turn off the Blackbird card

    When we play, we remove the "rook" card and only bid to 100. This means we only put 4 cards into the nest. Is there any chance you could allow the option to play without the blackbird card? Thanks.

  3. Last trick worth 20 pts.

    Raise the stakes a little more by making the last trick worth 20 points. In how I like to play this game it makes each round worth 200.

  5. Add online game play

    Please add online game play to this app. It would be my favorite app and i could get the majority of my family to buy the app. We would pay up to $5 for the app if it was free to play online.

  6. Option to make the Blackbird worth 10.5

    The version I play ranks the blackbird card at 10.5, so that it beats a 10 but is beaten by an 11. This makes things a little more interesting and requires more strategy in capturing the blackbird.

    Can you please have the option to select the card and when we lift our finger off, being able to select it without swiping the card. Great app! Thanks.

  9. Make a visible point tally

    I would like to see a point tally after each trick so one can track if they're going to make the bid, plus it will make it easier to explain to otherwise people because they will be able to see exactly how much each hand adds to the bid and which cards are most valuable. Thank you

    Computer players will now play points when the bidder is fishing! It will only do it sometimes because of the risk of losing the points. Just update to the latest version (v1.4.0) that was released today! Enjoy!

    I'm a horrible rook player and I keep winning. Computer bids tap out at 125. My team makes the bid every time. Please have a setting for more aggressive play.

    The computer plays more aggressively and should no longer tap out at 125. If you still feel that it is too passive, or you just want a setting to adjust its aggressiveness, feel free to submit another idea! In order to see this change, you’ll have to update to version 1.2.0 which was released Nov 30.

    It’s not obvious, but you can do this. After declaring the trump color, you can touch the trump color in the corner and it will let you change trump. Once you have discarded, it can’t be changed anymore.

  17. Allow changing the points to win (currently 300)

    When my friends and family play rook, we play to 500. 300 makes for a quick game, but a couple of bad hands and it's over. It would be nice to change the scoring settings. Thanks!

    You can already do this! You just need to create your own rule set. Go to Settings, Active rule set, New rule set…

    The last setting on the screen when creating your own rule set is the points to win. Enjoy!

  18. Love this game

    I have 3 friends, we used to play this game for hours we now all live in different parts of the country, it would be cool to be able to play them

  19. Blackbird trump only and trick display

    The blackbird card should be played as a trump card, meaning it can't be played unless you do not have the color played. Right now, it can be played whenever and that is inaccurate to the way the game is played when at the table.

    The computers now bid more aggressively. In order to see this change, you’ll have to update to version 1.2.0 which was released Nov 30.

    I am also currently working on adding multiplayer to the game. Since many people have submitted the idea of adding multiplayer and this idea actually contains 2 ideas and one of them is complete, I’m going to mark this as complete.
