Must break trump
In the Midwest we play a rule variation where trump has to be "broken" before it can be laid. This breaking of trump is a common card game rule. Please add it as an adjustable rule.

Re-enable Multiplayer
If multiplayer becomes an option, I will be having my entire family pay for and download the app, so long as we can play across the internet and not just wifi.

200 points with the little bird
200 points, 6 cards in the kitty with one card up so everyone can see it. The rook bird is the highest worth 20 points and the red 2 is the second highest card also worth 20 points both are always trumps. The winning bidder always calls trumps and also leads off the first round. The next highest card is a 1 (worth 15), then 14 (10) 13,12,11(worth nothing), 10 (10), 9,8,7,6 (worth nothing), 5 (5). Please put this in to be voted on. I will bring a lot of people to play this way.

Show original nest
Show original nest would allow (after each hand) the player to select if they want to see what was in the nest at time of bid. Might be in the form of an option in the rules to allow it or not. If allowed, have a button to press after each hand if we want to view the original nest.

Please change so our partner leads back into trump instead of throwing down a card in your fail.
Too often the partner will lead back into your fail suite. They should lead back into trump or a suite you don't have. When you fail a card off on a hand your partner takes it's not a good idea to lead back into that suite.

Reverse Power (Low Card)
An interesting Variation we play with to increase the strategy is two fold.
First we play the Bird is ALWAYS the lowest trump card no matter what...It makes it tougher as you really have to try to protect/capture it.Second in addition to that we play that the winner of the nest can call "low card". This exactly reverses the power of all the cards (Except the bird which remains low). So if you get dealt a cruddy hand full of low cards you can still bid to take the nest and then call low card to totally change the…

Add rule choose partner
Great game! Family has been playing Rook since I was little and love that we can play online together now. Only thing I would add is that an option to have set partners or be able to choose a partner a partner card. I call red 1 as my partner and for that hand you are partners then changes from hand to hand. We've always played it that way and makes the bidding a lot more interesting as well. Thanks again love the game

Have the option for the Red 1 to be second highest trump.
Good game! Well done. We would like the option to use the Red 1, but have it lower than the Blackbird. This is the way we usually play Rook. Thanks!

Give option to have just 1 card in the nest
We always play with just 1 card into the nest instead of 5. It would be simple to add the option and would be very fun. It's very easier to make 150 points and more on 1 round actually and 125-130 points is very harder to obtain when the nest have just 1 card.

Add an option for "uptown" (1,14,13...) or "downtown" (1, 2, 3...14).
I suggest an option for "uptown" (1,14,13...) or downtown (1, 2, 3...14) when bidding. It would allow people with "traditionally" poor cards to take the bid. Plus bidding would be higher because there are more ways to get a good hand.

6 handed game with calling partners
A great option is the 6 handed game. 3 against 3. In this case, the nest will only contain 3 cards and each player has 9 cards.
If using the option to call your partner, then the highest bidder calls two partners. So they would say something like, "Red is trump and the Red 1 and Black 1 are my partners).
There is a rule as to how to handle the situation where one person has both cards that are called.
(1) The player with both cards identifies themselves right away and the bidder can call for another card. If…

Computer personalities
It would be fun if, in addition to being able to pick the skill level of the computer players (I hear that functionality is in the works), you could pick a personality for the computer players (e.g. Aggressive, passive, risk-taker, safe bet). Other games (carcassone and ticket to ride) have used this and it makes the single player game even more fun.

Only get what you bid
If the team makes their bid, they only get what they bid. e.g. If you bid 100 and make 150, you only get 100. This adds the element of taking a risk to earn more points. If you have a great hand and end up with a bid of 110, there is no challenge or risk. However, if you only get what you bid, then you will push your bid to 140 or 150, which makes the gameplay more exciting.
